2021 Ford Expedition

What's New For the 2021 Ford Expedition?

The Ford Expedition is wholly unchanged from 2020. However, that is not a problem for consumers, who still consider the Expedition to be a top pick for a large, three-row SUV. The Expedition provides the best of all worlds with a large interior and room to fit eight adult occupants comfortably.

It is also loaded with technology and safety amenities. The Ford Expedition has class-leading legroom and headroom to start with. Still, if you want even more room, you can select the Expedition Max, an extended version of the Expedition with more cabin space and cargo capacity. There's plenty of power in the Expedition across all trims to get you to and from the places you need to go. The top trim has a special variant of the Expedition's engine that produces even more power.

2021 Expedition Trims and Features

There are four Expedition trim levels in 2021. The Expedition family is the same in 2021 as 2020. The base trim is the XLT. With it comes 18-inch wheels, which can be upgraded to 20 inches and 22 inches on the top trims. The XLT starts with an eight-inch infotainment console. It includes Ford's own SYNC 3 technology that includes an entertainment system and voice recognition. Also included in the SYNC 3 system are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Power-folding rear seats are standard on the XLT, which is available in a regular and extended edition. The Limited trim, which is next, adds leather seats, power-adjustable pedals, and ambient interior lighting for an upscale touch. Larger wheels and custom accents are added to the King Ranch, and the Platinum has wood trim accents and power running boards.

2021 Ford Expedition Horsepower

The Ford Expedition is historically a powerful SUV, and that doesn't change for 2021. This year's Expedition has a class-leading towing power of 9,300 pounds. Towing is made even easier with the Heavy-Duty Trailer towing package. The Expedition has a 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine that cranks out 375 HP on most trims and 400 HP on the Platinum. You can get four-wheel drive on all Expedition trims.

Ford Expedition Safety

Dual-stage airbags, three-point seat belts, and a backup camera are some of the standard safety aids on the 2021 Ford Expedition. The Expedition is also equipped with the CoPilot360 package of advanced driver-assist aids such as adaptive cruise control, pre-collision assist, pedestrian detection, and a blind spot information monitoring system.
