Ford Motor Company recently announced its partnership with SK innovation to bring cutting-edge battery technology to its vehicles to consolidate its position as a leader in the electric vehicle market. The collaboration between the two companies enables Ford to pursue its goal of becoming the most inclusive provider of electrified vehicles with a full line-up of battery electric and hybrid electric vehicles for virtually all consumer needs.

Both companies agreed to purchase 310 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy. It comes from DTE Energy's Michigan wind farms. The company will be able to power its manufacturing facilities in Michigan. It will be done with 100 percent renewable energy.

When considering electric vehicles, many car buyers like the concept, but they are also unsure about the cost of owning an EV for several years. According to research by Consumer Reports, EVs come out ahead of conventional vehicles on total ownership costs.

Ford has invested $11.4 billion in the facilities, which are expected to create almost 11,000 new jobs.

 
Across the four oceans on Earth, we see 13 million metric tons of new plastic added to them each year. There are currently 46,000 pieces of plastic in every square mile of the ocean. To help reduce this amount, Ford has started utilizing 100 percent recycled ocean plastic to construct their automobiles. The current Ford Bronco model utilizes a harness clip design that is made from plastic from the Indian Ocean. While the part isn't visible inside the vehicle, it plays an important role in the interior security of the vehicle.
