The Ford Explorer has consistently been a strong option in the three-row SUV market, and the 2025 model year brings even more enhancements. The Explorer's exterior and interior have been updated to stay fresh and competitive. The 2025 model gets redesigned front and rear ends, while the interior is upgraded with a Google-based infotainment system. Select trims also offer BlueCruise.

What Trims & Features Are Available for the 2025 Explorer?

The 2025 Ford Explorer is offered in four trim levels.

The base model, the Active, comes with various features like tri-zone climate control, heated front seats with multiple adjustments, keyless entry, keyless ignition, and captain's chairs in the second row to seat seven passengers. The Active trim includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Google-based voice commands and navigation, a digital instrument display, and a six-speaker audio system. It rides on 18-inch wheels and has a power liftgate and LED lighting. An optional package adds a heated steering wheel, remote start, a more adjustable front passenger seat, and synthetic leather upholstery.

The ST-Line trim offers a sportier look with a black grille, black body trim, and darkened headlights and taillights. This trim has 20-inch wheels and black synthetic leather seats with red stitching. The ST-Line also features extra safety tech and a B&O sound system with ten speakers.

The ST trim adds 21-inch wheels, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated second-row seats.

The Platinum trim includes a dual-pane sunroof, leather upholstery, a 14-speaker sound system, and adaptive headlights.

How Much Horsepower Does the 2025 Explorer Offer?

The Explorer's standard engine is a 2.3L four-cylinder that delivers 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.

The ST and available Platinum trims have a 3.0L turbocharged V6 that generates 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque.
