What's New For the 2020 Ford Expedition?

In 2020, the Ford Expedition gets some changes inside and out to look forward to. This year, the Expedition has more safety technology than before. Now, all trims get the same base level of safety amenities, which are wrapped up into a comprehensive and innovative package called the Co-Pilot360. With this substantial package, you'll get a number of safety aids from front to back, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, and more. Additional safety aids are available on the top trim level.

Along with more safety technology, you can customize your Expedition's appearance this year as well. A Black Accent package, which is available on the base trim, gives the Expedition a blacked-out exterior with black paint on the wheels, exterior trim, and outer shell. Another change for this year is the availability of the King Ranch trim in two body styles. Now, the King Ranch is offered in a regular and extended-length body. The latter provides class-leading legroom.

What Features are Available for 2020?

The 2020 Ford Expedition comes in four trim levels. The base trim is called the XLT. As with the other trim levels, it has three rows of seats and holds up to eight people. The XLT has an eight-inch infotainment console that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A WiFi hotspot is standard on all trims, and you can easily pair your smartphone with the entertainment system. Several packages are available with the XLT, including the Black Accent package, an off-road package called the FX4, and a towing package that helps the Expedition safely tow heavier loads.

The second trim, called the Limited, adds style and comfort with premium leather seats, power-adjustable pedals, and interior ambient lighting. Larger 20-inch wheels set it apart from the pack. The King Ranch, which is the third trim level, gets even larger 22-inch wheels and an adaptive suspension. Inside, it has exclusive leather seats with signature accent stitching. Along with its own engine, the Platinum gets satin-aluminum exterior trim detailing, power-running boards, and distinctive leather seats. A wood-trimmed interior adds class and elegance, while active noise control makes for a quieter and more relaxing ride. Additional safety aids are included on this trim level, too.

2020 Ford Expedition Powertrain Options

2020 Ford ExpeditionThe 2020 Expedition is made with two engines. The base engine powers the first three trim levels. Both engines have six cylinders. The first engine is a 3.5L that generates 375 HP. Its torque capacity is 470 LB-FT. The second engine, which powers the Platinum trim only, produces more power at 400 HP. Its torque output increases to 480 LB-FT. Both engines are connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Although the rear-wheel drive is standard, you can choose the four-wheel-drive for additional traction and control.
