What's New For the 2020 Ford Edge?

Now deep into its second production cycle, the Ford Edge receives a dual-zone automatic climate control system as standard for the 2020 model year. Apart from that, there are no significant changes in the midsize crossover, which was facelifted the year before.

Which Features are Available for 2020?

The 2020 Ford Edge, which seats up to five people, is available in four trims: SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST. In addition to the previously mentioned dual-zone automatic climate control, the Edge starts with comfort and convenience features such as remote keyless entry, cruise control, push-button engine start, a Wi-Fi 4G LTE hotspot, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, FordPass remote access, SYNC infotainment integration, six-speaker audio, an AM/FM radio tuner, a USB port for charging mobile devices, and a trial subscription to SiriusXM Radio.

At the SEL trim level, Ford introduces features such as premium cloth seat trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 10-way power on the driver's seat, 6-way power on the front passenger seat, and an infotainment system upgrade to SYNC 3. Leather seat covering, 10-way power adjustability on the front passenger seat, front-seat heating, a memory system for the driver's seat, a rear-seat back release function, a second USB port, a pair of 4.2-inch LCDs in the instrument cluster, and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo system appear on the Titanium. Only the ST trim has Miko inserts in the leather seats, a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel with silver stitching and an "ST" logo, remote start, wireless charging ability, and a garage-door opener.

Great Power and Fuel Economy

2020 Ford EdgeThe SE, SEL, and Titanium trims are powered by a twin-scroll turbocharged 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, which generates 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. For more output, go with the ST, which has a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 that generates 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Both engines have auto stop-start ability to improve fuel efficiency by eliminating idling. An 8-speed automatic transmission goes with each engine. Ford makes front-wheel drive standard on all trims save for the ST, which has standard all-wheel drive.

2020 Ford EdgeFor safety, the 2020 Ford Edge starts with features such as eight airbags, a rearview camera, an SOS post-crash alert system, a front safety belt reminder called Belt-Minder, electronic stability control with roll stability control and curve control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, MyKey for monitoring and guiding the habits of younger drivers, hill start assist, and a theft-deterrent system that includes a keyless entry pad.
