You'll notice quite a few things that are new for the 2019 Ford Expedition, including a blacked-out Stealth Edition. There has been a complete redesign, making the large SUV more attractive than ever. There's more technology, more safety features, and a number of other upgrades. Even the engine is different, adding some more power so that it's ready for any trip that you want to take.
There are six trim levels for you to choose from in the new Expedition, including XLT, XLT MAX, Limited, Limited MAX, Platinum, and Platinum MAX. There's an incredible amount of roominess, with first and second rows that rival other SUVs in its class. The second and third rows have best-in-class leg room, too. Cloth bucket seats are found in the XLT while the Limited and Platinum have front, perforated leather-trimmed seats. The 60/40 split bench in the third row folds flat to the floor, though it is a Power Fold and Power Recline in the higher trim levels. All trim levels provide you with dual-zone electronic automatic temperature controls and SYNC for voice recognition to control your communications and entertainment. Higher trim levels provide you with a dual-headrest rear-seat entertainment system as an optional upgrade, too. You can also get a 360-degree view camera in the higher trim levels.
You will have a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine with auto stop-start technology. This will deliver an impressive 450 hp. You can also enjoy the standard 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission or upgrade to the Two-Speed Automatic 4WD with the 4x4 option. A heavy-duty engine radiator can also be added. The Ford Expedition has best-in-class towing capabilities. You can look forward to being able to tow up to 9300 pounds when it is properly equipped. ABS with brake assist is provided in all. With the XLT, you can also add a fuel tank underbody if you go on rough terrain, along with skid plates. Premium off-roading packages can be added to enhance your suspension and shocks.
Ford has done a lot to enhance safety. You will have dual-stage front airbags, three-point safety belts for all positions, a Safety Canopy system for all three rows, side-impact airbags, LATCH, and rear-door child-safety locks. You will also have an SOS post-crash alert system and individual tire pressure monitoring. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert with trailer tow monitoring is also available. BLIS is optional in the XLT and standard in the Platinum and Limited trim levels.
