Specs at a Glance
Significant enhancements make the 2025 Ford Maverick® an even more appealing compact pickup. In addition to its refreshed styling, the latest Maverick® features the upgraded SYNC 4 infotainment system. When shopping for a new Maverick®, buyers will often decide between the XLT and Lobo™ trims. Let's explore how these two compare.
Performance
The Maverick® XLT arrives with a standard 2.5L hybrid engine, making it one of the most efficient models in the segment. Ford rates this powertrain at a combined 191 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission further optimizes fuel economy. For those seeking additional performance, the XLT offers an optional 2.0L EcoBoost engine that produces 250 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available.
On the Maverick® Lobo™, the 2.0L EcoBoost engine is standard. It pairs with a specialized seven-speed automatic transmission featuring paddle shifters for a more engaging driving experience. Ford specifically tunes the Lobo™ trim for a sportier on-road performance, complete with a lowered suspension and performance-tuned steering. The trim also includes beefier brakes and a torque-vectoring AWD system.
Appearance
The 2025 XLT benefits from the Maverick®'s refreshed look, showcasing a redesigned front fascia and darkened headlamp covers. Ford equips the XLT with 17-inch Carbonized Gray aluminum wheels. Several striking exterior colors are available, such as Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat.
By comparison, the Maverick® Lobo™ features a more aggressive street-truck design, highlighted by its lowered stance, exclusive 19-inch black wheels, and a unique grille that underscores its bold character.
Features
The updated SYNC 4 infotainment system highlights the XLT trim, featuring a larger 13.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Other notable features include Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start, in-bed cubby storage, and an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster.
Inside the Maverick® Lobo™, ActiveX seat upholstery with accent stitching creates a distinctive cabin ambience. Standard Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control and an available B&O premium sound system cater to both convenience and high-end audio.
