The new 2016 Ford Explorer is out and it has a ton of new features that you are sure to love! Whether is be the interior, the exterior or under the hood there are a lot of great things about the 2016 Ford Explorer. With seating for seven and EPA estimated miles per gallon of 17 MPG city and 24 MPG highway, the 2016 Ford Explorer will work great for families everywhere. 

Let's start with the exterior. There have been many updates to the exterior of the Explorer and the most noticeable is sure to be the five all-new wheel designs and five new colors. Ford has updated the body by redesigning the hood, headlamps, grille, front and rear fender and the fog lamps. They have taken it a step further and redesigned the lift gate, tail lamps, fascia and brand new exhaust tips.

One of the most sought after features for the 2016 Ford Explorer is the available 2.3L EcoBoost engine. this engine is a 280 horsepower engine that delivers 310 lb-ft of torque. this new EcoBoost engine delivers a substantial increase in horsepower and torque over the previous 2.0L EcoBoost engine. This new engine is also now available with a Class II trailer tow package with intelligent 4-wheel drive system with terrain management system.

Another new feature for the 2016 Ford Explorer is the available enhanced Active Park Assist. the Explorer uses its available ultrasonic systems to help you park in almost every type of parking situation, however it does not work on angled parking and only on perpendicular parking. The vehicle will scan for suitable parking spaces and will assist in backing the vehicle into the desired spot, all you have to do is shift, accelerate and brake. Active assist will take care of all the steering.

One of the most anticipated features of the 2016 Explorer is the availability of the all-new Platinum model. The Explorer Platinum offers 20 inch bright wheels with painted pockets. The front and rear now feature sterling silver painted skid plate elements and a distinctive grille with a satin chrome finish. Inside you will find a leather wrapped instrument panel with contrast stitching and new leather trimmed seats with quilted bolsters and "Platinum" embroidery on the front two seats. The steering wheel is heated and comes leather wrapped with contrast stitching. There are also new aluminum and wood accents in the interior.
