You've heard it before: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Normally, we agree - except in the case of the 2015 Ford Edge in Irving. We've always loved this fantastic little crossover, and we've never had any complaints - but its new redesign for the coming model year blows the current model out of the water. It's the makeover none of us knew the Edge needed, and your friends at Westway Ford will give you the details.
The first thing you'll notice about the new Edge is the all-new exterior. It was redesigned to appeal to a global market - in fact, it will be sold in over 100 countries. It's sleeker and more modern than its 2014 counterpart, and narrow headlights and a sophisticated grille give the front end a very bold look. It's slightly longer and taller than previous models, which means you'll find more legroom and cargo space than ever before.
The 2015 Edge in Irving will be available in four trim levels: SE, SEL, Sport and Titanium - all equipped with varying degrees of technology. The most tricked-out trim level - Titanium - comes with just about every piece of technology Ford offers! And we're not just talking about fancy touch screens: the Edge is technologically advanced inside and out. Active grille shutters boost gas mileage, new fully-assisted parking aid technology helps you squeeze into any spot and the industry-first glove box air bag protects your lower body in the event of an accident.
When it comes to the engine, you'll have a few choices: the SE, SEL and Titanium trims will have the option of a 245-hp, 270-lb-ft EcoBoost 2.0-liter I4 or a 265-hp 3.5-liter V6. The Sport trim level gets a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, which produces over 300-hp. As far as transimission, you'll find a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters across all trim models.
We're still waiting to hear more about pricing and a release date, but we'll be sure to keep you posted. Can't wait until then to upgrade to a new Ford? Be sure to come visit your Dallas-area Ford dealer, Westway Ford!
