At this year’s Geneva Auto Show in Geneva, Switzerland Ford has unveiled the 2016 Ford Focus RS. This will be the first Focus RS to be sold in the United States. Meant to compete with the Subaru WRX, Volkswagen Golf R and Audi RS3, the 2016 model looks more mean and aggressive than the Focus hatchback. That may or may not have something to do with the fact that it was developed with input from Ken Block. Featuring 19-inch alloy wheels with sport tires as well as a new spoiler, two large exhaust tips and new grille the new aesthetic upgrades are sure to please the eye.

In addition to all the visual upgrades that have been made to the outside, they have also made some considerable upgrades to the interior. Some of these upgrades include a flat bottomed leather wrapped steering wheel, Recaro bucket seats, three extra gauges that display turbocharger boost pressure, alloy pedals and a touch screen based SYNC infotainment system which features a rear view camera with park distance control. Optional will be a 10 speaker Sony sound system that includes a sub woofer.

Ford did not stop with just visual improvements to the inside and outside; they also have made many upgrades to the performance of the vehicle. Under the hood features the turbocharged 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine that is found in the new Mustang. This engine is all wheel drive and touted as well in excess of 315 horsepower. The Focus RS will come standard with a six-speed manual transmission and a unique torque-vectoring system. This system will send up to 70 percent of the torque to the rear axle. The engine will also have a new exhaust system that will lead to better overall exhaust featuring an electronically controlled flap which will help deal with higher temperatures.
