America's best-selling truck is on the prowl once again, and for the 2015 model year, it's stronger and smarter than it's ever been! An all-new steel and aluminum-alloy body sets the tone for the newly debuted F-150, which is now lighter and much more durable than in years past. Eleven class-exclusive features are also being offered across the pickup truck's lineup, providing cutting-edge technology and boosting the overall experience for drivers and passengers. Additionally, the F-150 sports a new selection of driver-assist technologies, which ensure smooth travels whether you're heading to work or going on a cross-country trip, and increase the truck's capabilities.
The 2015 Ford F-150 may be lighter than previous models, but it's extremely more durable. While its aluminum-alloy cargo box contributes to its reduction in weight, its high-strength steel, rated up to 70,000 psi, makes it incredibly strong, giving it the ability to tackle all 883-miles of the Baja 1000, one of the toughest off-road races, with no problems. In addition to these improvements in strength, the F-150 also comes with a collection of driver-assist technologies that increase its abilities for 2015. Second-row inflatable seatbelts help reduce crash-related injuries, curve control increases braking when approaching a corner too fast, lane-keeping system helps keep the truck in its designated lane, blind sport information system detects objects in the truck's blind spot and adaptive cruise control gives driver's the ability to monitor traffic, and set cruising speeds.
Equipped with eleven all-new features, the 2015 F-150 in Irving is also smarter than its predecessors. A number of exterior cameras have been added to each model, which provide a 360-degree view around the truck, and a new BoxLink system allows drivers to easily secure a variety of items within the cargo box. Two trailer-assist components are also available with the F-150 in an effort to provide extra support when towing. Trailer hitch assist comes with a rearview camera that can be used to help drivers line up the truck with their trailers, and a smart trailer tow module has been integrated to inform drivers when their trailer has connectivity or brake light issues.
Aside from these incredible new components, the latest version of the F-150 features two new powertrain options: a 2.7L EcoBoost engine with Auto Start-Stop and a 3.5L V-6 engine with twin independent variable camshaft timing. Each engine accompanies the pickup's previous 3.5L EcoBoost and 5.0L V-8, giving buyers addtional powertrains to choose from.
