Read about 2014 Fusion for the Dallas area

The midsize sedan segment is overrun with mediocre options, so when a car really shines the critics notice. The Fusion has been praised by Edmunds.com, Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com and other well-respected sources, on top of being named The Car Connection's "2013 Best Car to Buy." Now, it and its electric-powered siblings have returned for yet another year and all continue to impress critics and consumers alike. Read Westway's 2014 Ford Fusion review for details about the lineup's powertrain options, available trim levels, cabin features and more.

This year's changes include: The Fusion Hybrid now offers a less expensive base S trim level, along with the previous SE and Titanium; the Energi plug-in and gas-powered Fusion offer the same lineup as last year. For 2014, all models are now available with ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and safety-enhancing inflatable rear seatbelts. Under the hood, the gas Fusion can now be upgraded with an optional 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, in addition to the optional 1.6L and 2.0L turbo four-cylinders. Base powerplants on the Fusion, Hybrid and Energi carry over from last year.

Moving into the cabin, several amenities are offered, including high-end electronic and luxury features like the Ford SYNC system with voice-activated phone and music controls, leather-trimmed heated front seats and adaptive cruise control. The next-generation SmartGuage with EcoGuide system is another notable feature for Hybrid and Energi buyers; it comes with dual-LCD screens and provides real-time vehicle data like fuel economy, engine coolant temperature and distance to empty, along with drive mode settings and customizable screen views.
