How to Connect to Ford Vehicle Wi-Fi

Many new Ford vehicles come equipped with SYNC, a wi-fi hotspot that can be connected to up to 10 devices via the FordPass app. To make use of this feature, you first need to download FordPass on the device of your choice and activate SYNC connect.

Once you have a device that can connect to SYNC, you need to activate the hotspot itself and make sure that it can be found by your device. To do this, make sure that you are parked in a safe location, turn on your vehicle, and go to "Settings" on your vehicle's SYNC display. Go to the "Wi-Fi & Hotspot" menu and select "Vehicle Hotspot." Make sure the hotspot is turned on, and make a note of your service set identifier or SSID name. You can find this along with your hotspot's default password in the "Settings" menu. You can change both the SSID and your password later using the "Edit Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings" menu if you wish. While you're doing this, check to make sure that your hotspot is visible to other devices by going to the "Edit" screen and making sure that the wi-fi visibility is turned on.

Once you've activated your hotspot and made it visible, it's time to connect it to other devices. Go to your device's wi-fi settings and search for your hotspot's SSID. Enter the default password, and you should be ready to go.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns about your hotspot or anything else related to your Ford vehicle, don't hesitate to contact Westway Ford to make a service appointment. Our friendly staff will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
