Fans of FOX Network’s sci-fi hit “The X-Files” may have noticed a few Ford models in the recent six-episode mini-series. One of the primary characters on the show, FBI Agent Dana Scully, who is played by actress Gillian Anderson, drives a 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum. It’s an all-new trim level available in the lineup, which joins the Explorer, Explorer XLT, Explorer Limited and Explorer Sport. Also featured on the show are a Ford Mustang, Escape and Taurus. If you remember past episodes of the cult classic, FBI Agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) owned a Ford Taurus and called it a “good American car.”

If you want to drive the same SUV as Scully, try out the 2016 Explorer Platinum in Dallas-Fort Worth. The new trim level gets many exclusive features that aren’t just handy when investigating extraterrestrial cases. The Platinum’s blind-spot and lane-departure warning systems are beneficial for families who want a utility vehicle with enhanced safety, while the model’s dual-panel sunroof is a bonus for sun seekers. The Explorer Platinum also includes an industry-first Sony Audio System with 500 watts of power and advanced Live Acoustics and Clear Phase technology that bring concert-theater quality sound to the road.
