How to Turn on My Ford's Windshield Wiper De-Icer
The de-icer is available on select 2019 Ford models. The de-icer system includes a heater at the base of the windshield. This prevents snow and ice build-up that can cause the wipers to freeze in place. This will allow the wiper to keep in contact with the glass allowing the wiper to clean the windshield throughout its entire arc movement. To activate the windshield de-icer, press the rear defroster button located on the center console. To activate the de-icer from your key fob, press the lock button and then the remote start button two times. If your vehicle is equipped with Sync Connect with Ford Pass downloaded, you can activate the de-icing feature from your device. From the FordPass menu screen, press the "Vehicle Control" button. Then press the "Remote Start" button. These three approaches to de-icing your windshield wiper will ensure that you don't have to spend minutes, in freezing weather, trying manually de-ice your wiper from the windshield. This feature will also ensure your wiper will operate efficiently in freezing weather.
