Service Advisor
SUMMARY
The service consultant is responsible for writing service work in the service department and for selling needed service to customers. The service consultant is the dealership's primary, first-line service representative.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Communicate with service customers to determine the nature of the mechanical problems
Secure agreement from customers before repairs; cover cost estimate; and approximate time when vehicle's work will be completed
Obtain customer and vehicle data
Test drive the vehicle with the customer if there is any question regarding the nature of the problem
Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacture's specifications, using maintenance menus
Communicate the need for additional work when needed; explain the details to the customer, including the additional cost and time consideration and document properly on repair order
Follow up progress of each repair order during the day, contact customers by telephone regarding changes in the estimate or time promised
Deliver vehicles to customers and answer any questions, review work preformed and explain charges and coverage
Interpret warranty information and policies to customers
Service Technician
SUMMARY
The Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts, inform team leader if vehicle is awaiting parts and pursue special order of parts if necessary
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by customer
Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
Notify service consultants immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs can not be completed within the time promised
Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order using the concern, cause and correction format
Road-test vehicles to check work performed
Automotive Sales Position
SUMMARY
Sells/leases new- and used-vehicles at dealership gross profit,
volume, and customer satisfaction standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include
the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Satisfies the
transportation needs of vehicle purchasers.
Sells/leases and delivers a
minimum of 10 units per month.
Approaches, greets, and offers assistance or
direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.
Assists customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening
carefully to their responses.
Explains fully product performance,
application, and benefits to prospects.
Describes all optional equipment
available for customer purchase.
Provides test drives to all prospects.
Follows dealership procedure to obtain proper identification from customer prior
to test drive.
Utilizes dealership sales control and follow-up system.
Exhibits high level of commitment to customer satisfaction.
Knows and
understands the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail automobile
sales.
Establishes personal income goals that are consistent with dealership
standards of productivity, and devises a strategy to meet those goals.
Attends product and sales training courses as requested by sales manager.
Keeps abreast of new products, features, accessories, etc., and their
benefits to customers.
Knows and understands equity and values, and is able
to explain depreciation to the customer.
Ensures that the sales manager has
an opportunity to meet each customer.
Turns 100 percent of closed deals to
finance and insurance manager, along with properly completed paperwork
(insurance information, trade title, etc.).
Writes complete sales orders and
processes paperwork in accordance with established dealership policies.
